POS Group is delighted to announce that, to celebrate our 20th anniversary of trading, we are launching our very own “Brand Awareness Month” in March. Each week throughout March we will highlight the areas of our business that can assist you with increasing brand awareness.
In March 2002, Adrian McKenna (POS Group Managing Director) opened the doors on his new enterprise, Professional Office Supplies Limited, and had to very quickly build his own company's brand. With a background in sales to the legal profession, he launched his new business and quickly won accounts based on his personal and professional account management. The core products offered were stationery and print.
Along with the firm's first employee, Jenni Whyte, he started a journey that, 20 years on, has gone from strength to strength and diversified hugely along the way - even with the challenges of a global financial crisis back in 2008 and the coronavirus pandemic over the last two years.
The business added a Janitorial & Hygiene division first to supplement the stationery and print offering, and followed that up with a Workwear & PPE department. Most recently, POS Group launched its own Interiors & Design arm and next up is our own Corporate Gifts division.
As well as adding divisions and departments, we have incorporated a number of other businesses into the Group including James Gray & Sons, Inkspot, The Office Supplies Company and Office Shop.
We have also widened our target markets from legal and accountancy to pretty much every type of industry including manufacturing, hospitality, care sector, education, third sector, leisure, construction, mechanical & engineering and retail.
From humble beginnings within the Philips Lighting factory in Hamilton we now have our own redeveloped HQ at Motherwell and satellite offices in Carlisle and Glasgow. Along that journey, the group has added more team members and now has a settled group of colleagues that understand what we provide and why we do it the way we do it. Our team is invested in our values and we move into the next chapter of our evolution by focussing on sustainable solutions to assist with providing sustainable business services.
Twenty years have come and gone in the blink of an eye and we are as confident now as we were then that there are more opportunities than threats to our business.
